(Toccoa, GA) July 26, 2016– Toccoa Falls College has finalized the sale of its radio network to Radio Training Network , Inc. of Lakeland, Florida. The new owners plan to continue the contemporary Christian music and family-focused teaching format by repeating the programing of their Greenville network of stations (HISradio) over WRAF and the other stations in the TFC Radio Network.
WRAF, TFC’s flagship station was established in 1980 and carries its call letters in honor of college founder, Richard A. Forrest, which will remain under the new operators. Commenting on the sale, TFC President Dr. Robert Myers stated,
“We want to thank our loyal WRAF listeners and the community for their support over the last 36 years. We are pleased to know WRAF and our other stations will be in such incredible hands, continuing Christian broadcasting and the work Toccoa Falls College began long ago. This sale is a tremendous step for the college. It enables us to broaden our resources as we work to expand our educational channels.”
First announced in April of this year, the sale consisted of WRAF, the college’s noncommercial Contemporary Christian radio station, along with student-operated WTXR; a Belton, SC FM station; 2 FM repeater stations; and a Franklin, NC AM station.
The Radio Training Network, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that owns and operates approximately 100 Christian radio stations throughout the Southeast, placing emphasis on local community involvement and training young men and women for careers in Christian broadcasting.
