Office Of Spiritual Formation

The office of Spiritual Formation exists to equip and encourage genuine followers of Jesus Christ by creating opportunities for the community of TFC to engage in communal worship, discipleship, and acts of service. The office of Spiritual Formation oversees the weekly chapel program, the office of service and outreach, annual prayer retreats, and campus-wide small groups called Barnabas Groups. Feel free to contact members of our office for further information about any aspect of  Spiritual Formation at TFC.  You can find our offices in the lobby of Grace Chapel & Performing Arts Center.

J. Christian Stratton

Director of Spiritual Formation

Chris comes to us with the M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary, where he taught biblical languages for several years. He served as Director of Spiritual Formation at Wesley Biblical Seminary, as Teacher Pastor and Minister of Adult Education in churches, and as Director of Leadership and Community for a Kentucky District of the United Methodist Church. He has been active with Campus Crusade and Fellowship for Christian Athletes. Chris is excited about serving our students and comes with a compelling vision to see spiritual formation move across all areas of campus.

Chris and his wife, Shelly, are originally from Kentucky. They have two teenage children, Katelyn and Grey.

Faith Champion-Newey

Director of Service and Outreach

Faith Champion-Newey is a longtime member of the TFC community; a child living on campus with her family in the 80’s, a student and graduate in the 90’s, and an employee of TFC from 2007-2011. With an undergraduate degree in counseling and a MA in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College, Faith brings a background in missions, experience in social work and counseling, and an understanding of the Toccoa Falls College student to the Office of Service and Outreach. She believes that as members of the body of Christ, the students at Toccoa Falls College each have a role to play in sharing the love of Christ in meaningful and practical ways. Faith is very excited to see how the Office of Service and Outreach helps accomplish that task in Toccoa, GA and the surrounding areas. In her free time, Faith can be found hiking in the beautiful forests of Northeast Georgia, driving on a back road searching for adventure, working out at the local YMCA, spending time with her wonderful husband, family, and friends and cooking at home.
