The men’s and women’s basketball programs at Toccoa Falls College will be participating in their respective region tournaments on February 26 – 27. The men’s team will travel to Jacksonville, Florida, to the men’s tournament, hosted by Trinity Baptist College. Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL, will host the women’s region tournament.
The Screaming Eagles, who were recently voted as the #10 team in the country, will travel to Jacksonville as the tournament’s top seed. Toccoa Falls will face #4 Johnson University (FL) on Friday at 5:00. The winner in that contest will advance to Saturday’s championship game at 2:00 and will face the winner of #2 Trinity Baptist and #3 Pensacola Christian. The south region champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCCAA national tournament, to be played March 9-12 in Ankeny, Iowa.
TFC (10-13) is led in scoring by Cam Williams‘ 18.4 points per game. Williams (pictured above) ranks 13th nationally in scoring. Jovan Morris adds nearly 13 points per game, and Connor Iverson contributes 10.5 ppg. Williams also leads TFC with 8.7 rebounds per game, which ranks him 9th nationally. Senior Zach Barrett adds 7.5 points per game and 6 rebounds per game.
In the women’s tournament, Tococa will play Trinity Baptist College on Friday at 7:00 in Pensacola. Saturday’s championship game will feature the TBC/TFC winner and top-seed Pensacola Christian. The winner of the south region tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCCAA national tournament in Joplin, Missouri, on March 10-12. All region tournament games will be streamed here.
Senior Katie Calloway averages 12 ppg and 8.7 rebounds a game to lead TFC (3-17). Beth Brown contributes 6 points and 6 rebounds per game, and Cassidy Lang adds an average of 6 points and four boards.
