After dropping Thursday’s first game to Warner University (8-3), Toccoa Falls baseball faced Emmanuel College on Thursday night in an elimination game.  The Screaming Eagles defeated the tournament hosts 10-3 to advance to Friday’s championship round.

Emmanuel broke the deadlock with a run in the top of the fifth inning, but TFC answered with 7 runs in the bottom half of the same inning.  After Emmanuel added two more in the sixth inning, Toccoa Falls put the game away with three runs in the eighth for the 10-3 victory.

Leadoff hitter Josh Slate went a perfect 5-5 at the plate with two RBI’s and a run scored, and Nathan Stanley added three hits in five at-bats.

Austin Shea pitched eight innings and allowed three runs, no earned runs, and struck out 11 hitters.

Toccoa Falls will play Warner University on Friday at noon at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia.  In the double elimination format of the tournament, a TFC victory at noon would force a second game in the championship series, to be played at 3:00, if needed.  To watch Friday’s action, please click here.
